Dopie
naked shoes for naked people
Dopie has been an on-going fashion design project of Studiohead for a little while now. Starting at the Royal College of Art, we created the original Dopie flip-flop, which we then licensed to British shoe firm Terra Plana. The shoe started selling in various places around the world, and created a buzz in the design blogs. In late 2008 / 2009 the Dopie really took off in China and Japan, where customers started customising their straps.
Following the success of the shoe, we expanded the brand by designing a Dopie belt. We are confident that the belt will take the global surf, skate and street scenes by storm in 2009 and 2010. There is also a closed version of the Dopie shoe, which we hope will conquer the european markets as well. We have also just designed a range of t-shirts to promote the Dopie label - available to buy from the Terra Plana shop very soon!
